When it came to life, finances and the bigger picture, my grandfather always told me, “Mike, don’t be penny smart and pound foolish.” I took that perspective and applied it to time and life after recovery. It helped me understand quality of life over quality of moment. When most of us drink and use, we are looking to change or improve our “quality of moment.”
It could be anxiety or stress that drives our behavior, or something as simple as wanting to relax. For example, my primary emotional trigger to drink or use was abandonment, a much deeper seeded emotion fueled by trauma and life experiences. For myself, and so many others, I chose to drink and use, regardless of the consequences.
Early Sobriety can be the toughest part of your Recovery Journey. Returning home isn’t always the best option. Relapse typically occurs within the first 3-6 months. A Sober and Healthy living environment and a strong support system, play a major role in a quality and lasting recovery.
Features of Our Program:
The Stay Up Recovery Sober Living Approach
At Stay Up Recovery we value working on the key contributors to relapse and failure when trying to stay sober. Lack of support, a flood of emotions, trying to navigate life, and an unhealthy living environment are all primary factors for most individuals who relapse and return to daily use and chemical dependency.
Our home is built on support and integrity, which we need the most. Our weekly house meetings focus on “where we are,” giving each resident the opportunity to seek support and feedback and to provide support to those that need it the most. Accountability, Healthy Habits, and Peer Motivation are essential in the recovery process.
We understand the feeling of being broken enough to finally reach out and ask for help. We understand what it feels like to want to change how you’re feeling the moment it gets bad. We understand wanting to stop more than anything but not being able to. Doing this alone doesn’t work—it just doesn’t.
Why Stay Up Recovery?
“We are a fellowship of like-minded individuals working towards the common goals of sobriety, friendship, and recovery.
We aim you towards emotional and financial independence.
We value self-accountability and integrity. These qualities are the backbone of growth and will stay with you no matter where you go in your journey from here.”
